We are looking for an experienced electrical technician to disassemble, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, assemble and test electrical equipment which are predominantly medium/high voltage electrical equipment (Switched Integrated Rectifiers (SIR) high frequency power supplies for electrostatic precipitators (ESP’s)).To be successful as an electrical technician, you should be able to read electrical system design plans and drawings and repair procedures, recommend equipment improvements, calibrate instruments, and diagnose faulty equipment.
ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Disassembling, inspecting, cleaning, troubleshooting, evaluating, repairing, assembling, testing, packaging and shipping of electrical equipment and apparatus associated with SIR equipment and other spare parts for Air Pollution Control (APC) Systems.
• Repairing and assembling parts, using hand tools and specifications.
• Reading and interpreting and following electrical and electronic circuit blueprints, diagrams, schematics and procedures.
• Advising management on continued use of unsuitable equipment, appliances, and apparatus, and of modifications needed to equipment.
• Comfortable working with medium voltage (480V) equipment.
• Comfortable operating material handling equipment including overhead cranes and forklifts.
• Willingness to travel, on occasion, to supplier or customer site to assist with supervision of erection & commissioning, troubleshooting, repairs and training.
• Willingness to travel, leading service group sales efforts in field
• Willingness to learn and open to training.
• Possess strategic, logical, and methodical thinking for problem solving, organization, time management, prioritization, and independent decision-making skills, while accurately handling multiple tasks requiring detail
• Assist in administration of warehousing for spare parts
• Provide support in elaboration of proposals for repair and/or upgrade work associated with APC equipment, predominantly ESP’s
• Support administration of proposals and purchase orders in companies ERP system (SAP)
• Position performed indoors in a workshop environment, which includes exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels, dust, dirt, fumes, and high voltage electricity. Physical conditions for position are to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, push, pull, kneel, stoop, crouch, ascend/descend stairs, possibly lift up to 50 lbs. Must have visual acuity, excellent mobility, good hearing, manual dexterity, good balance, ability to endure long hours, and wear required personal protective equipment.
REQUIREMENTS:
• At least 2 years’ experience as an electrical technician.
• Good knowledge of electrical standards and norms applied in the North American market;
• Knowledge of other international standards (ISO, DIN, etc.) is an advantage
• Open to work with multinational teams
• Problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Experience operating hand and power tools, soldering and fault-testing equipment.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word,)
• Ability to work simultaneously on multiple projects and meet project and deliverable schedules.
• Experience in low voltage electrical testing,
• working with medium voltage (480V) equipment.
• Willing to travel, up to 30%
• 2-year electrical, technical, or related degree.
• Completion of an electrical apprenticeship.
• SAP/CRM Experience
