We have an opportunity for proactive and detail-orientedCloud Engineer Internto join our Smart Energy – Connected Utility – Application Engineering team atHoneywellinBucharest. As a Cloud Engineer Intern, you will be responsible for managing and monitoring our Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) deployment, which includes components such as Kafka and PostgreSQL. You will also design and implement Azure dashboards for effective maintenance and real-time monitoring of cloud resources and services

Responsibilities:
• Monitor, manage, and optimize Azure AKS clusters, ensuring the health and performance of containerized applications.
• Daily logs analysis, troubleshooting issues, and identifying patterns in log data.
• Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot Kafka and PostgreSQL services deployed within the AKS environment.
• Develop and maintain Azure dashboards for real-time monitoring and alerting on resource utilization, application performance, and system health.
• Participate in daily operations, including log analysis, performance tuning, and incident resolution.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to improve system reliability, security, and scalability.
• Document configurations, procedures, and issue resolutions to support continuous learning and operational efficiency.
Requirements:
• Basic understanding of Kubernetes concepts and container orchestration.
• Familiarity with Azure services, particularly Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Monitor, and Azure Log Analytics.
• Good command of Linux in command line.
• Good understanding of networking concepts: VPN, IPSec, subnetworks, virtual networks.
• Experience or coursework in managing databases such as PostgreSQL.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Skills:
• Knowledge of Kusto Query Language (KQL) is a plus.
• Understanding of event streaming platforms like Kafka is a plus.
• Knowledge of infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform or ARM templates.
• Knowledge of scripting languages such as Bash or PowerShell for automation.
• Knowledge of monitoring tools like Grafana or Prometheus.
• Familiarity with DevOps principles and CI/CD pipelines.
