Service Team Leader
YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
In this role, you will have the opportunity to execute service work with low to medium complexity as per work instructions and in accordance with ABB standard processes, quality standards, and safety guidelines. Each day, you will plan and execute work on a first-time right approach with customers. You will also showcase your expertise by displaying a clear understanding of sense of urgency and care in your own area of responsibility.
This role is contributing to the Process Automation, Energy Industries Service Team in the Benelux where ou Industry & Utility customers depend on our automated systems (DCS – Distributed Control Systems). With a new installation or an upgrade of an existing system, you are the service engineer who brings IT and process automation together. If there are issues at our customers site, you will be on site quickly on behalf of ABB to solve the problem. This happens by the way regularly remote from the office or home workplace. That makes you not only a source of information for both customer and colleague, but also ambassador of ABB.
You will be mainly accountable for:
• Performing field service tasks, including setting up and maintaining network configurations, installing and maintaining industrial automation systems, and conducting system upgrades.
• Preparing comprehensive material lists for service activities, ensuring all necessary components, tools, and equipment are available and meet quality standards for ABB installations.
• Troubleshooting equipment and process failures in industrial automation systems, performing default diagnoses, and implementing corrective actions to prevent future issues.
• Updating technical documentation for ABB installations to maintain accurate records and facilitate future maintenance and upgrades.
• Providing platform support for ongoing projects and collaborating with the team to enhance overall system performance and reliability.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE
• You understand what good service means. Just as you understand that a malfunction at our customers is annoying and must be solved as quickly as possible. That’s why you feel responsible for getting everything up and running again.
• You think along with customers and ensure that ABB’s products and services work as optimally as possible. This also means that you advise on new system upgrades and other developments that help customers further.
• A bachelor’s/master’s degree in industrial automation, IT or similar.
• Knowledge of IT, network applications, client & server systems, virtualization and network topology.
• Experience with Microsoft software, Active Directory and domain configurations.
• Some knowledge of DCS and/or PLC systems.
• Good command of the Dutch, French and English language in word and writing.
• You are willing to work in the Benelux and to stay on-site for short periods when needed (2-3 days). A valid driving license is mandatory.
• The willingness to be on-call once every 4 to 5 weeks.
