Wood is recruiting for a Turbine Controls Specialist to join the Maintenance Rotating Equipment team, based in Equatorial Guinea. The team is responsible for supporting Onshore & Offshore maintenance operations for EG, Africa, in a safe, efficient, and economic manner.This position will be based on a 28 x 28 rotational basis.
This position provides engineering and technical support for planned/unplanned maintenance activities, fault analysis and upgrades of the existing large Rotating Equipment Controls. The candidate will perform responsibilities with a minimum of guidance with the requirement of being an SME in Turbomachinery Controls such as Mark VIe, Triple C+ and Alen Bradley.

Responsibilities

•    Ability to troubleshoot control and instrumentation systems at all levels, from field devices to control system, and networking. Proficient at least, but not limited to; of GE FANUC Mark VI, Mark Vie, Fire & Gas System PLC’s, Bently Nevada Vibration Monitoring System, CCC Load•    Sharing and Antisurge PLC’s, Allen Bradley PLC’s•    Support Operation Department on equipment Start-up when required•    Support maintenance department activities associated with the technical operations related to the Control and Instrumentation for the Rotating Equipment (Gas turbine, Centrifugal Compressors, Generators, Turbo-Expanders)•    Specifics procedures and materials/tools for safe and effective execution of hardware related activities•    Coordinate with the Rotating Equipment Engineer the analyses of the equipment failures and prepares reports when requested, regarding findings and cause of failures (RCAs)•    Coordinate with the Rotating Equipment Engineer to identify remedial actions, including revisions to the PMR content and follows up on implementation of agreed actions•    Coordinates with the Rotating Equipment Engineer in the budgeting and scheduling of the Instrumentation and Control System planned maintenance activities•    Recommends selection of vendors and contractors for the purchase of materials, equipment, and supplies, and contracting of engineering consultants and specialized technical services to improve operating efficiency•    Ensures that control and instrumentation equipment’s on facilities is operated in a safe and environmentally sound manner to comply with all applicable local laws and regulations in accordance with company guidelines and policies•    Reviews vendors operating and maintenance manuals, drawings and Service Bulletins relating to new equipment for completeness/technical correctness and ensure information is transferred to PMR and procedures•    Advise capital and consumable spare parts stock requirement to ensure coverage of planned and unplanned outages•    Produces engineering specifications for systems upgrades and reviews vendors commercial offers•    Support the client’s ROMS process by personal involvement in activities to enhance performance in Health, Environment, Safety & Corporate Social Responsibility•    Support the client’s integration efforts by personally committing to actively participate in the mentoring and coaching activities designed to enhance the skills, competencies, and performance of the National employees working in your assigned area of responsibility
