Key responsibilities

Developing and executing test plans and test cases to validate the product against the product requirements.

Creating and maintaining test scripts, tools, and automation frameworks to streamline the testing process.

Collaborating with developers and designers to identify and troubleshoot defects and issues.

Conducting root cause analysis to determine the source of defects and issues.

Developing and maintaining quality metrics and reports to track and communicate product quality and performance.

Participating in product design and development activities to ensure that quality and performance requirements are addressed.

Conducting performance and scalability testing to ensure that the product can handle the expected workload and user load.

Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure that the product meets regulatory requirements and industry standards.

Contributing to the development and maintenance of the product documentation and training materials.

Qualifications for a Validation Engineer for a smart home solution may include:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field such as Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Information Technology.

At least 3-5 years of experience in software testing, quality assurance, or related roles.

Strong knowledge of testing methodologies and tools, including test automation frameworks and scripting languages.

Experience with test management and defect tracking tools such as JIRA, Bugzilla, or Quality Center.

Familiarity with smart home technologies and the Internet of Things (IoT) ecosystem.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Familiarity with agile development methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.

A passion for quality and a desire to create products that exceed customer expectations.
