In this role, your responsibilities will be:

Design and develop hardware product with thorough consideration of cost, quality and functionality

Review and validate designs for impact on function, performance and regulatory requirements

Participate in design reviews and formulate and resolve design issues

Work with layout team to create prototypes of design change proposals

Perform electrical and functional tests on prototypes

Collaborate with worldwide teams in the areas of supply chain, manufacturing engineering, component vendors and suppliers, and quality engineers to maintain and improve quality of existing products

Monitor and understand design change implications to agency certifications

Develops qualification test plan for approval of any alternate sources; conducts component level testing and maintains test records of all qualification results (Pass/Fail)

For this Role You Will Need:

• Bachelor of Science Electrical / Electronics Engineering. Masters degree in similar courses is a plus.
• Minimum 8 years of related work experience in Hardware Engineering or Component Engineering, including:End to end hardware development experience (design, manufacturing, continuation engineering and support)Analog and digital circuit designFirmware experience (Embedded microprocessor & FPGA design)Understanding of signal integrity for EMC compliant designOn-board power supply design (voltage conversion)Familiarity with PCB design and layout techniques; component placement and signal routing
• Analytical ability to determine and develop solutions to moderately complex problems
• Demonstrated strong communication skills with ability to relay technical information in English (verbal, written, and interpersonal)

Preferred Qualification that Sets You Apart:

• Systems-level experience (ex. DCS, PLC, etc.)
• Understanding of electrical safety standards
• PCB CAD experience is a plus
• Flexibility to respond to urgent project requests and/or changing priorities
• Experience of working (either by telephone, e-mail or directly) with people in multiple countries and time zones, exchanging information
