Job Description

Wood Digital Consulting (DC) is currently recruiting for an Electrical, Control and Instrument (EC&I) Designer with experience in CAD Instrument Drafter with experience in the oil and gas industry to support our UK project.
This 4 year project forms part of a 5 year client contract with a potential and likely 3 year extension.
The role is intended as home based with the option to work from any Wood office in the UK if preferred, mobility and travel to customer sites and face to face meetings with colleagues will be expected as required.
Must be able to pass HMG Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) check.
This person must be capable of working with minimal direct supervision and have experience of taking site surveys. 
Will be working with the project Instrument Design Engineers to design all the instrument and control works assigned and ensure all drafting works are completed in accordance with the approved project schedule, standards and within allocated man-hours.

Responsibilities

Responsible for ensuring compliance with client specifications and engineering standards. The role works alongside the Senior EC&I Engineers to ensure scope changes are captured.
Responsible, in co-operation with the Senior EC&I Engineers / PEMs, for the production of all conceptual designs, design schemes and detail drawings and associated design documentation.
Maintains compliance with Engineering Standards and applicable legislation
To have participation in Design Reviews where they are to ensure that subsequent design are captured and drawings updated.
Ensuring the confidentiality and security of data and information received from clients
Liaise with the Senior EC&I Engineers to ensure effective project delivery to time.
Maintain a general overview of their project and provide some direction on project progress.
Read and fully understand Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&ID’s), Loop drawings, ISOs, wiring and hook-up diagrams
Demonstrates proficient skills in CAD utilizing client’s current version of AutoCad and Document Management Systems
Demonstrates knowledge of ISA and Piping, Loop drawings, ISOs symbology
Proficient in identifying in field; instruments, mechanical equipment and piping components
Ability to apply client Engineering Standards as part of day-to-day technical support of assignments
Ability to interpret Engineering mark-ups and accurately make drawing corrections
Ability to field as-built P&IDs, Loop drawings, ISOs, wiring and hook-up diagrams relative to design of project scope and/or common field changes for Project Closures

 

Qualifications

Educated to HNC / HND or degree in a relevant engineering discipline or a chartered engineering & member of an appropriate institute.
Proficiency in AutoDesk AutoCAD and MS products; Teams, Word, Excel and Outlook
Good level of industrial experience working in; P&ID, Loop drawings, ISOs Drafting
Currently SC security cleared.
Experience on the Sellafield Site
Experience of localised guaranteed non interruptible supplies
Understanding of Fibre Optic systems
Communications Experience
4G knowledge
Knowledge of CIMAGE
