YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As Senior Control Software Engineer for Product Support, you will be responsible for the support of ABB traction and ESS software products, providing technical expertise and assistance to internal and external customers. You will ensure timely and cost-effective support in accordance with standard processes and procedures. You will be analyzing, prioritizing, classifying, answering, and closing support cases coming from local ABB entities or from end customers. Focus is to provide technical support and issue resolution regarding all ABB Traction products (mainly traction & auxiliary converters and ESS). The work model for the role is: hybrid # You will be mainly accountable for: • Provide technical support for complex – typically multi-discipline – control SW problems related to the application of ABB Traction products around the world • Work closely with system Integrators (vehicle OEMs) to analyze, diagnose and troubleshoot complex issues and provide appropriate and accurate technical solutions to ensure customer satisfaction • Analyze problems and initiate effective measures for their solution, including management of escalations and initiation of cross functional team support • Collaborating and cooperating with R&D, Engineering- and Service Centers to support internally- and customers on urgent basis, periodical reports, and recommendations to customers • You maintain and improve control software for customer projects for traction converters and battery storage systems from the software requirements definition to the operational release running on the final system • You troubleshoot software in diverse environments like real-time simulator, laboratory, and on the vehicle. • You will have additional responsibilities for modernization topics

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE

• You have a University (Higher education) degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, Computer Science or equivalent
• You bring a minimum of 3-5 years of working experience in SW development for closed loop control, signal processing, algorithms, and real time programming mechanisms
• You have experience with Matlab/Simulink, CODESYS or IEC 61131-3 programming languages
• You have a broad knowledge of converter control and power electronics
• You have the ability to work effectively in close collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, the ability to learn quickly and flair to face new challenges
• You bring a creative and solution-focused approach and show strong written
• and spoken communication skills
• You are fluent in English, German is a plus
