R&D Local Unit Lead

YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead the processes in maintaining and preserving the efficiency of all the electrical and mechanical maintenance on Laboratory testing equipment following the Maintenance Procedures, the Machinery instruction manuals and the processes in maintaining and preserving efficiency of all testing equipment, resulting in optimization of technical resources.. The work model for the role is: #onsite This role is contributing to the ABB Electrification Business area in particular for the Smart Power Division in Bergamo Main stakeholder the Research and Development Department. You will be mainly accountable for: • Carrying out ordinary and extraordinary maintenance of the laboratory testing equipment and facilities according to the guidelines of the methodology in use and also referring to maintenance instructions, or instruction manuals • Collaborating with the Lab testing sections team to define maintenance plans for new testing equipment, and consult on ways to improve reliability, maintainability and safety of equipment. • Managing and updating technical documentation of laboratory equipment and facilities recording (where applicable) the results and reporting any faults to the maintenance section manager • Solving major technical, equipment or facilities problems in order to achieve higher performance of the laboratory. • Proposing improvement projects for processes and testing apparatus aimed at reducing ordinary and extraordinary maintenance and optimizing operational and energy efficiency. • Responding to emergencies, breakdowns, malfunctions and other operating problems to minimize disruption to laboratory process. • Complying with accident prevention regulations, implements health, safety and environmental guidelines and directives to ensure safety of people and resources and notify the test technician of any anomalies detected on the safety devices.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE

• High School Diploma in the Electrotechnical field or Bachelor Degree (3 years) in an Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronic field
• You are highly skilled in Mechanical and Electrical knowledge
• Ability to demonstrate your manual skills, analysis capacity and interpretation of results
• You are qualified in computer skills (programming knowledge and office software package and PLC programs)
• You are passionate about precision, teamwork and have an high desire to learn and attitude for problem solving
• You are at ease communicating in Italian and English language
• Availability to work in rotating shifts
