Job Description

With increased global demand for new major transportation programs, Fluor has emerged as a leader in developing innovative solutions for large and complex infrastructure projects involving bridges, highways, rail, toll roads, and transit systems. Fluor Infrastructure O&M is seeking an entry level Construction Engineering Aide to join our Infrastructure group’s growing Operations and Maintenance division to assist with preparing estimates, work plans, and other activities related to O&M infrastructure projects. Within Fluor’s Urban Solutions business line, our Infrastructure O&M division provides Operations & Maintenance services on newly built projects as well as for existing infrastructure. As an Infrastructure O&M Engineering Aide , you will receive an introduction to our estimating practice and will assist with preparing estimates for a variety of infrastructure projects. You will report to the Engineering Manager and collaborate with experienced staff to learn, understand, and apply estimating practices. You will routinely have opportunities to gain exposure to other facets of our business and broaden your knowledge base. This position typically leads to opportunities to move into a project-based role or to other areas/ business lines within Fluor throughout the United States and around the world. Occasional travel will be required to visit existing and potential project sites.
• Assist with material take-offs and workload estimates;
• Identify and gather pricing from suppliers/subcontractors and analyze the information collected
• Assist with project reports and contribute to project estimates by identifying activities, reporting project status, and performance
• Assist with proposal writing
• Recommend strategies to improve efficiency and accuracy with estimates and proposals
• Maintain technical knowledge by keeping current on industry activities, available systems, and equipment for infrastructure O&M best practices
• Learn and apply asset management principles and best practices in day-to-day work
• Other duties as assigned

• Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
• Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
• Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
• Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner

Preferred Qualifications

• Typically has one (1) year of project experience
• Ability to speak/read multiple languages

Salary Range

34,500 to 54,500

Market Rate

The market rate for the role is typically at the mid-point of the salary range; however, variations in final salary are determined by additional factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.
