What do you get to do in this position?

We are seeking a talented and driven R&D Engineering Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in both developing new projects and supporting our existing product offerings. This dual responsibility requires a balance of creativity, technical expertise, and a strong commitment to maintaining and enhancing legacy systems.

Essential Responsibilities

1. **New Project Development:**

– Lead and participate in the ideation, design, and development of innovative products and solutions.

– Conduct feasibility studies, prototype development, and testing of new technologies.

– Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, production, and marketing to bring new products from concept to market.

– Stay current with industry trends and advancements to drive continuous innovation.

2. **Support Legacy Systems:**

– Provide technical support and maintenance for existing products and systems.

– Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to legacy systems, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.

– Implement improvements and updates to enhance the performance, reliability, and lifespan of existing products.

– Document and share knowledge related to legacy systems to support team continuity and knowledge transfer.

3. **Collaboration and Communication:**

– Work closely with other stakeholders to align R&D activities with business objectives.

– Present findings, project updates, and technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.

– Contribute to the preparation of technical reports, patents, and publications.

Qualifications

This job might be for you if you fit the following requirements:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or a related field.

– 5+ years of experience in an R&D role, with a proven track record of developing new products and supporting existing systems.

– Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

– Proficiency in relevant software and programming languages (e.g., MATLAB, CAD software, SAP).

– Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

– Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.

– Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements.

**Preferred Skills:**

– Experience with UL, NEC, CSA, NOM.

– Prior experience in new product development and project management is desired.

Demonstrated ability to innovate and think creatively.
