. As a Sr Advanced Software Engineer here at Honeywell, you will work with a talented team of engineers responsible for designing and developing advanced software solutions for cutting-edge avionics technology.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, code, and test, and software solutions for avionics display systems
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand customer needs, design software architectures, and implement software modules
• Troubleshoot and resolve software issues to ensure system performance and reliability
• Software architecture and coding
• Integration
• Feature Definition
• Verification and Validation
• Analytical skills & software development skills

Up to 50% travel can be expected.


Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.


• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
• 8+ years of software engineering experience
• 8+ years of experience creating test cases for software based upon use cases derived from the system and software requirements
• 8+ years of experience with software development lifecycle (DO-178C preferred)
• 8+ years of experience with firmware & driver development experience
• 8+ years of software architecture design and embedded C++ coding experience
• Ability to write, read and speak English


• Understanding various software development life cycles, methodologies and tools
• Proficiency in programming languages such Ada, Python and/or Open GL, as well as real-time operating systems (RTOS) and software development tools
• Object oriented development experience
• Touch & gesture development experience
• Multithreading/Multicore processing experience
• Experience in any of the following is a PLUS:Avionics products, i.e. Avionics Displays & Graphics, Flight Management, Autopilot, Flight Planning, Flight Controls, Flight Displays (PFD), Traffic Collision Avoidance (TCAS), Crew Alert Messaging (CAS), Terrain, Radios, etcUnderstanding of User Application developmentKnowledge of software configuration management and change management practices.Experience operating in an Agile framework
