YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, you will be responsible to act as a design authority for an engineering discipline with medium complexity. Complete assignments on multiple projects of moderate size or portions of major pro-jects in a cost-effective manner and in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and cybersecurity policies and standards. The work model for this role (onsite) This role is contributing to Electrification Business Area in Distribution Solutions Division based in 10th of Ramadan City Egypt. You will be mainly accountable for: •Acting as a technical lead and approving design deliverables. •Reviewing all project documents for conformity, safety, cybersecurity, and quality assurance requirements. •Anticipating and solving unprecedented design problems, crucial issues, and/or unique conditions. •Serving as a specialist in the application of advanced concepts and methods. •Defining focus areas / priorities for design to ensure technological excellence. •Working with the customer to shape and deliver solutions and seeking customer feedback to drive and deliver improvements •Finalizing ‘fail-safe philosophy’, ‘secure-by-design principles’, and other key concepts as part of kick-off and design freeze meetings. •Participating in project meetings and resolving any outstanding technical issues to meet contractual obligations. •Assisting in preparing proposal / presentation of engineering projects / programs. •Applying design thinking / design for excellence concepts in projects, including modelling, prototyping, simulation, and calculations. •Performing project peer-reviews and utilizing checklists to perform design verification according to applicable standards and engineering guidelines. •Contributing and shares experiences in workshops related to engineering design, tools, and processes. •Coaching engineering colleagues on the translation of conceptual designs to engineering documentation, best practices, and lessons learned from past projects. •Developing, selecting, and applying standard techniques, procedures, and tools. •Ensuring that engineering activities comply with safety and cybersecurity regulations and standards and contractual requirements. •Reporting processes and tools inefficiencies and suggesting ideas for improvements •Ensuring that Bill of Materials (BOM) for the project meets contractual obligations and project gross margin requirements by not generating Project Left-Over Material (PLOM). •Identifying and implementing variation requests to support contract claims based on the approval from project manager. •Creating work plans and cost estimates for the portfolio of projects in consultation with respective project managers. •Ensuring quality and timely implementation of projects within the targeted cost. •Preparing RFQs to meet contractual requirements and providing technical evaluation of suppliers’ proposals. •Coordinating with manufacturing and testing functions to ensure the designs are appropriately manufactured / staged and tested. •Coordinating with commissioning / service functions ensuring the designs are appropriately installed and commissioned and ensuring the engineering deliverables are updated post installation and com-missioning (if applicable as part of the contract). •Ensuring the engineering deliverables as built are updated.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
• 2+ years of experience in relevant field.
• Design thinking, design verification, fail – Safe Philosophy, Data Driven Insights Planning & Pri-oritizing. Risk Management Influencing without Authority
• Fluent in English & Arabic.
