ABB Marine & Ports Electrical Solutions team is looking for a Senior Project Engineer specialized within power production and distribution. Electrical Solutions team supports several departments within ABB Marine & Ports. This position will primarily, however not exclusively, be supporting our Modernization department. Modernization is responsible for upgrades and retrofit projects for vessels with ABB deliveries. Tasks are primarily engineering and follow-up of deliveries in projects of various size and complexity. Daily tasks involve coordination with customers (shipyard and/or ship owner), class societies, ABB factories and other sub suppliers. Coordination with ABB service and commissioning engineers who performs the commissioning work is also a vital part of the position. Senior project engineers in ABB Marine are responsible for the technical leadership and engineering within the power scope of a project, hence the ability to combine practical and theoretical knowledge is a key success factor. A self-driven personality with the know-how to maintain and handle ownership of technical challenges, including the ability to cooperate with suppliers, customers, class society and colleagues is important. You will also get the opportunity to travel to customers, suppliers, and shipyards. This position will from time to time also allow you to execute parts of the commissioning yourself if you have the sufficient experience and wish to attend. However, it is not a requirement for the position to attend commissioning.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE

• You have at least 5 years’ experience with design of electrical power systems.
• Since this position will primarily support our Modernization department, hands on experience from installation work onboard vessels would be an advantage, however not an absolute requirement.
• We are primarily looking for candidates with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, however we will consider ship electricians if you have relevant practical experience from commissioning in addition to engineering experience.
• We are primarily looking for a candidate who has experience with switchboards, programming of protection relays, power system dynamics and power generation.
• You need to be able to combine practical and theoretical knowledge. You need to be fluent in English, both spoken and written.
