Job Description
Fluor led joint venture with United Infrastructure Group, Fluor-United Asheville (FUA), is seeking candidates for the I-26 Widening Project. FUA was selected by the N.C. Department of Transportation (NCDOT) to widen and improve the 7.5 mile stretch of Interstate 26 from Exit 40 (N.C. 280) to the I-40 interchange in Asheville, N.C. The project will widen I-26 from two lanes to four lanes in each direction, including two interchange reconstructions, one at N.C. 280 and the other at N.C. 146, and the construction of seven new bridges, two over Glenn Bridge Road, two over Biltmore Farms Road, two over the French Broad River and one segmental bridge on the Blue Ridge Parkway over I-26. This stretch of I-26 currently carries more than 58,000 vehicles per day. This position supports the construction efforts by providing technical support to craft and supervision as well as helping to satisfy quality requirements on the project. Initiate action when necessary to ensure the project is being built as specified in the scope of work. Provide construction engineering and technical support for one or more construction engineering disciplines within an area on large stand-alone projects. Provide construction engineering and technical support to all construction engineering efforts for a specific discipline on small to medium projects.
• Assist craftsmen, foremen, and project supervision with regard to construction-related issues identified on drawings
• Provide technical interpretation of design documents in support of construction managers, superintendents, and contractors and provides specific expertise for problem solving activities
• Coordinate the completion of construction activities in assigned systems and prepares punch lists to ensure the readiness of systems for release for turnover to the client or for start up
• Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with organization and/or project objectives and guidelines
• Other duties as assigned

Basic Job Requirements
• Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in engineering field of study and eight (8) years of work-related experience; a recognized certification or registration in the applicable field, if required
Other Job Requirements
• Participate in Fluor University
• Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
• Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
• Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
• Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
Preferred Qualifications
• Construction Management degree or global equivalent
• Ability to speak/read multiple languages
• Basic or intermediate computer and software skills to include the use of word processing and email as well as the basic or intermediate use of spreadsheets
Salary Range
84,000 to 146,000
Market Rate
The market rate for the role is typically at the mid-point of the salary range; however, variations in final salary are determined by additional factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.
