Marine Lead – Angola

Responsibilities & Main Tasks

• Manages the overall activities of the Marine & Naval team and coach the team as required
• Focused on operational support, improvement programs andMoCs
• Ensures that the Marine Systems & Equipment are maintained and operated in accordance with the Management System and best practices
• Ensure planning and execution of the Structure, Hull, and Tank inspection programs (including UWILD) consistent with GEMS requirements
• Reviews and validate technical specifications for inspections and repairs
• Maintains Operations Manuals up to date and reviewed according to the operational needs and changes implemented
• Supports in the modifications of design of the unit (management of change) and liaises with Fleet Support (engineering) to develop and implement the changes
• Prepares and manages the budget for the 3-year plan related to the marine activities and liaise with the Operations Managers to ensure that it is captured in the operations plan
• Supports and follows-up internal and external audits related to Marine subjects, as well as the close-out of the consequent actions
• When required, liaises with relevant technical discipline, Classification Societies, and subcontractors, as necessary, to maintain conditions of Class.
• Supports in the investigation of incidents, assign actions, ensure RCA (Root Cause Analysis) studies are carried out and lessons recorded and implemented.
• Assist in maintaining high-level contact with Class to ensure that the FPSOs fleet Special Cycle agreement and the RRDA agreement are in place, allowing effective daily management by the respective Shore bases.
• Maintain high level contact with Flag allowing an effective day to day coordination by the respective Shore bases of the FPSOs compliance with flag requirements
• Liaising with Classification Society Head Office on behalf of the local Operations Management for requests for exemption, extensions etc.
• Review incoming Rules and Regulations updates, verify applicability to the Fleet and initiate process to get the Fleet to comply with these updates as required
• Keep abreast of technological, market, political, financial, execution and economic developments in the offshore/shipping/shipbuilding and related industries
• Ensures the team has clear objectives aligned with the business
• Provides support and ensure individual and team development
• Reports activities and escalate issues to department and operations managers
• Travels to the operating units and yards as required

Job Requirements

Specific skills / expertise / product:

• B.Sc. in Engineering – Naval preferred
• Minimum 10 years’ FPSO experience and/or Sailing Vessels (Oil Tankers, LNG tankers, etc.), including cargo tanks inspections and repairs
• Familiarity with cargo and mooring operations as well as marine equipment
• Experience in management of teams
• Versed in IMO (SOLAS, MARPOL, STCW, etc.) and IACS (International Association of Classification Societies) requirements
• Office package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF, and others)
• Fluent English mandatory, Portuguese proficiency desired
• Willingness to obtainBOSIETcertification and travel to offshore FPSOs, what will be a mandatory factor in the probation period
