Job Description

Analyzing and interpreting plans
Interpreting work orders and determining the materials required.
Calculating angles and determining the vertical and horizontal alignment
Laying bricks using mortar as a binder and a trowel to level
Fastening bricks with wire clamps or cement
Working safely on scaffolds and swing stages at various heights
Using equipment and tools effectively to perform basic construction tasks

Responsibilities

Follow the rules of safe conduct always.
Employee must be able to use standard and/or metric rule to measure.
Demonstrate ability to use whole numbers, fractions, and decimals to add, subtract, multiply and divide and be able to accurately follow instructions.
Identify, recognize and demonstrate safe usage of power tools and hand tools appropriate for the job
Demonstrate ability to work with a craft person
Identify, recognize and select appropriate materials related to specific crafts
Identify, explain, and perform crane hand signals.
Demonstrate ability to assist craft person.
Demonstrate ability to perform manual excavation.
Work using all the safety equipment that OSHA requires as well as what is required by the client.
Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards, while following all waste handling guidelines.

Qualifications

Work within precise limits or standards of accuracy.
Work at heights without fear
Compare and see differences in the size, shape and form of lines, figures, and objects.
Apply shop mathematics to solve problems.
