Job Description

Wood is currently recruiting for an IT Network Support specialist with relevant technical experience preferably working internationally in the oil & gas or relevant industry.
The position is based onshore in Equatorial Guinea.The normal working rotation as an international rotator is 10 weeks in country / 3 weeks rotational leave.
The expected duration is a maximum of 2 years.
 
Main Duties;Ensures that the Information Technology (IT) network assets, are operational and maintained within corporate IT standards. Provides day-to-day support for business-critical network infrastructure, ensuring high availability and reliability 

Responsibilities

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES  1.    Monitor and maintain network systems, including routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and other network hardware/software.2.    Troubleshoot and resolve network performance issues, ensuring minimal disruption to critical business operations.3.    Collaborate with IT teams to design, implement, and optimize secure network architectures for both internal and external systems.4.    Support business continuity and disaster recovery planning by maintaining redundant systems and regularly testing fail over mechanisms.5     Implement network security best practices, including firewall management, intrusion detection/prevention, and VPN configurations.6.    Perform routine network diagnostics, monitor traffic, and ensure network compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.7     Document network configurations, policies, and procedures for both internal reference and compliance purposes.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Network Engineering, Computer Science, or related field. Relevant certifications {e.g., CCNA, CompTIA Network+, CISSP, or similar) are a plus.  Industry Experience and Knowledge:Several years relevant experience in network support, with a focus on critical business infrastructure. Experience with network monitoring tools. Strong knowledge of firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems (1OS/IPS), and network security practices. Business-Critical Infrastructure Focus (Preferred): Experience with supporting critical business infrastructure i.e Delta V system Ability to prioritize incidents and respond quickly to network outages or critical system failures. Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles related to critical infrastructure. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, able to work with IT teams and business stakeholders to ensure network performance meets business needs. Ability to work in high-pressure situations, particularly during critical incidents or downtime. Strong documentation skills to ensure proper handover and knowledge sharing. Understanding of cloud-based network infrastructure (e.g. AWS, Azure) is a plus.
