Position Brand Description:

Lilly is at a critical juncture as we tool up to realize the potential of our product pipeline. We are building new processing capabilities around the world, and emphasizing emerging, innovative processing technologies, such as continuous processing, biotech platforms, and advanced data and control systems. Additionally, we are recapitalizing older assets, and bringing the operational philosophies in line with current technologies. Global Process Automation & Control Engineering (GPACE) is part of the Engineering Tech Center (ETC) and Corporate Engineering organization. GPACE provides automation, measurement, strategic direction, and process control solutions. GPACE is a technical resource for training, standards, capital project delivery, Lilly’s standard automation platforms, strategic supplier relationships, and leading Global Programs. GPACE’s primary customers are global manufacturing and development sites, Tech@Lilly (Lilly’s Corporate IT organization), and peer groups such as Global Facilities Delivery (GFD) and Global Quality.

The Global Program Lead – Corporate Automation role will be part of Lilly’s Corporate Automation Engineering team and will support corporate initiatives across one or more of the Lilly’s manufacturing networks. The position is designed for a senior leader who can develop, manage, and deliver projects and program across multiple manufacturing sites (both in the US and OUS) including automation life cycle management upgrades and innovation. The position will also be involved in our strategic partnership management and qualification of our GMP suppliers.

This position will require both technical and program management skills, as well as the ability to work across multiple cultures and organizations.

The position requires a high learning agility and experience in one or more process automation platforms. The Program Leader is expected to define, gain cross-functional alignment, and deliver program results by coordinating activities and resources across functions, sites, and external suppliers and contractors.

Key Objectives/Deliverables

• Work safely and continually improve both people and equipment safety.
• Lead Global Programs across Lilly manufacturing.
• Manage contingent workers and internal teams to meet schedules and Corporate Engineering commitments.
• Own the program plan and project implementation roadmap for major initiatives.
• Effectively communicate to Site, Corporate, and Executive leadership teams.
• Provide corporate leadership to our communities of practice and share best practices.
• Innovation – Bring external and innovation focus, combined with a strong understanding of business objectives, manufacturing and quality processes and technologies, IT/Automation applications and Infrastructure to define the future state vision for manufacturing.
• Apply a structured approach to program management including project planning, schedule development, resource loading, and project governance.
• Manage relationships with strategic partners including quality risk assessments, information and technology sessions, and escalation.

Basic Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science Degree in engineering or a related science field
• 2+ years’ experience in process automation.
• 2+years in technical project/ program leadership.
• 2+ years in developing, managing and delivering projects.

Additional Preferences:

• Experience in pharma or GMP industry.
• Experience in Rockwell Automation or Emerson DeltaV systems.
• Experience working with validated systems.
• Experience with automation servers and workstations.
• Experience in cyber security platforms and solutions.
• Knowledge in Historians, S95 networks, and IT platforms.

Additional Information:

• Domestic and International travel may be required (approximately 10-15%).
• This role is based out of Indianapolis, Indiana – Lilly’s Technology Center South.
