JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
GES Generator Stator, Structures & Packaging Engineer role provides overall exposure and analytical as well as hands on product development experience in the four subsystems of synchronous turbogenerators which are stator frame, armature, packaging, and Instrumentation & control hardware. Engineer will handle design, documentation, and testing & validation activities with guidance from more experienced members of the team.

The Professional Engineer band is an individual contributor position.
Engineer will collaborate with experienced engineers of various subsystems to design and develop turbogenerator stationary components listed above.
Projects may involve integration of various sub-systems. For example, developing an instrumentation package will involve control hardware, armature as well as stator frame components and integration. Developing an armature winding will involve knowledge in solid mechanics, non-metallic materials, heat transfer and electro-magnetism. Similarly packaging a rotor bearing support system will involve bearings, lubrication, and instrumentation.
Knowledge and interest in CAD systems such as UG-NX and Ansys numerical tools would be of immense value.
Engineer will interact with Manufacturing, Sourcing, Drafting and Suppliers during the product development process. Engineer will get opportunities to participate in testing activities as part of learning as well as validation of the design.
There will be some travel per business needs.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Execute the analysis and design of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements. This work involves mechanical, materials and/or electrical engineering principles.
• Broadening and deepening knowledge of her/his own technical discipline to execute a world class design of GE-Vernova products and services.
• Develop understanding of key business drivers and use this understanding to accomplish excellence. Good understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to our business.
• May have some autonomy to make decisions within a defined framework. Resolves issues with good technical knowledge and engineering judgment within established procedures. Consult more senior team members for guidance outside of definedinstructions/parameters.
• Requires good interpersonal skills.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering from an accredited university or college.
• 1year of workexperience or similar fields.

Desired Characteristics

• Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
• Ability to use CAD tools (Aviva, UG-NX, Ansys).
• Basic understanding of solid mechanics and mechanical vibration.
• Basic knowledge of thermodynamics, materials, and manufacturing processes, as well as instrumentation & control.
• Familiarity with drafting standards and geometric design and tolerancing (GD&T).

For U.S. based candidates only, for purposes of complying with U.S. pay transparency requirements, the base pay range for this position is $79,400.00 – 119,000.00 USD Annual. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, geographic location, and skill set.
This position is also eligible for a 5% annual performance bonus. This position will stay open on the career website until at least 9/12/2024.
*The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%,120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
