Job Description
You will provide customer support and engineering through the performance of small projects, on-site installation, and troubleshooting, service, and repair of equipment. The Field Service Engineers work with our customers to maintain an organized and productive manufacturing system. We ask that you have vision, creativity, technical engineering expertise, good at business and a willingness to travel. Ensure that the individual parts of a system can work together to perform the desired application. Take ownership of the complete system or solution, which encompasses RA, third-party, and user aspects, not only the individual components. Be able to improve the application of all RA family of products and portfolio offerings to meet customer’s needs.
You will be reporting to the Business Lead, Lifecycle Services.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
• You will attend to field service work.
• You will provide technical assistance and field service to customers by performing the following things
• Engineering assistance application, programming specifications.
• Field service installation startup integration, system optimization, maintenance, and warranty implementation.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software problems at customer site.
• You will provide customer coordination of RA products and systems by performing the following responsibilities:
• On-site analysis and specification preparation
• Hardware configuration – system and product application
• Programming assistance
• Project coordination between customer, OEM sales, product division.
• Technical support – field startup, integration and maintenance
• Documentation
• Test and acceptance
• Provide proper reporting of technical, administrative and accounting information.
• Provide technical assistance to sales and customer personnel on product applications to include alternatives, recommendations, explanations, and surveys. to meet the customer’s requirements
• Make recommendations for product improvements, especially as they affect operations and reliability of RA products
• Pursue all opportunities to produce revenue for all RA products and technical support services including applications engineering contracts, retrofit contracts, training, documentation and support service agreements.
• You will increase commercial customer interface, project planning, project and site management and development of preventive and predictive maintenance programmes, and provision of expert level service support to resolve complex problems relating to products, technologies, and industry processes
• Provide customer support through the performance of on-site installation, and overseeing any necessary diagnoses, troubleshooting, service, and repair of complex equipment and systems
• Evaluate and approve operational quality of system equipment
• Be company liaison to the customer for multiple topics
• Participate in the establishment, measurement, and achievement of customer satisfaction metrics
• Demonstrate personal leadership for project engineering teams, contract employees, and project support personnel
• Communicate with Rockwell Automation and customer management regarding project details
• Support an environment conducive to successful team interaction and customer satisfaction
• Follow all applicable corporate, company, governmental, and regulatory procedures for this position. Procedures include: Standards of Business Conduct, Intellectual Property, Control Environment, Information Protection, government regulations (e.g. health, safety, quality and environmental), and functional policies published on the Rockwell Automation Information Network.
• Ensure Planned Job Safety Analysis (PJSA) to be performed before undertaking a job onsite.
THE ESSENTIALS – YOU WILL HAVE:
• You will have an engineering degree. With minimum of 6 years relevant experiences.
• The ability to travel at least 50% of the time.
THE PREFERRED – YOU MIGHT ALSO HAVE:
• You will demonstrate the technical skills to be engaged.
• You will have the ownership in overall development including technical, commercial, and personal by having a documented development plan
