Job Description:
The Manufacturing Engineering Technician Specialist may plan, research, develop, and perform manufacturing engineering assignments including, process planning, creating and updating standards, and methods improvement.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Contribute to facility transformation, technology transfer and ongoing maintenance of mixed model manufacturing and/or value streams.
• Ensure ongoing success of process improvement initiatives by implementing policies, procedures, and process documentation.
• Implement demand driven principles and strategies that support operational excellence and long-range plans. (Flexibility, Speed & Responsiveness)
• Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods, using knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.
• Estimate production times and related costs to provide information for costing of new products and special projects.
• Use continuous improvement tools to implement process improvements that will reduce cycle time, process variation, defects, changeover time, and lead times.
• Participate in area layouts, process definition, and fixture implementation.
• Act as an advocate between Design Engineering and Operations.
• Act as an Infor XA Super User within functional area as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
• Associate degree in a technical discipline is preferred or 3-5 years related technical experience.
• Experience using Infor XA or equivalent ERP system.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
• Proficiency in CAD (AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
• Knowledge of lean principles and process improvements.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITY:
This position does not directly supervise other team members.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Typically sits, grasps items and performs keyboarding for frequent operation of a computer
• Stand, walk, bend, reach or otherwise move about occasionally
• Lift, move or otherwise transfer items up to 30 lbs. occasionally
• Occasional exposure to typical machine shop physical hazards
• Travel by air or car occasionally
